That's What They Said

Who IS this girl?

...here's what they said.

  • "I wish I would have written down everything funny Katie has ever said to me. I'd be making money off of her right now."
    -Previous Co-Worker

  • "She has the biggest heart, and she'll let anyone in there. There's another part of her that's big and she won't let just anyone there. She has discretion."
    -Anonymous

  • "This blog is one of my favorites for its sheer sassy-ness. If you don't know me, I love the word "sass" haha, and this blog has plenty of it. It makes me laugh out loud quite frequently, and Katie (not Kathleen, duh) does a great job dishing out the high powered sarcasm and biting witticisms. She even acknowledges that her sarcasm is one of her dominant traits, and you pick up on that very quickly. It's smart, it's sarcastic, it's funny- what else do ya want?"
    -Tom

  • Katie is funny. Not just ha ha funny, but more a skewed view of reality - an ability to laugh at the foibles of continuing to live in a world that is cruel and absurd.

Katie has an ability to call shenanigans when needed. Katie is loving, but not to everyone-she tries to hide her feelings under a front of bonhomie and hail fellow well met, but she feels more than she lets on.

Katie is pretty-prettier than she thinks, certainly, and prettier than she is willing to admit. At the same time, Katie is not girly, obsessed with fashion and girl talk. Katie can throw on a football jersey a
nd knock back a cold one with the boys.

She's the kind of woman who could knock your eyes out in a cocktail dress. She doesn't-she's not that way-but she could, if she wanted to. It's knowing that she has this potential in her, even if she keeps it deeply under wraps.

If you have to boil it down, Katie contains multitudes-a funny serious sexy tomboy."
    -Mike

  • "Within just a short couple weeks I created what has become a wonderful, close friendship with one of the most genuine and warm-hearted people on this earth. Without hesitation, she volunteered to help me plan events or my non-profit. When ever I have a question or need advice, she is there. Whenever I want to grab a drink (or ten) and some dinner, she is right there beside me drinking laughing our problems away. She is smart, witty, hilarious, and beautiful.

If you saw us, you would think that we have been friends for years. We laugh with each other, at each other and at other people. It’s just
that kind of a friendship. She’s instantly become one of my best friends and that makes me so happy. I don’t have to try to pretend to be someone I’m not with her – the first day I met her she truly accepted me and my life for what I am. It’s so hard to find such genuine, caring people in this world. She is just simply an amazing person. And I am so lucky to have her in my life.

So to my friend (she knows who she is) who has blessed my life, I thank you. Thank you, for all that you are doing for me and my non profit. Thank you for making me laugh so hard it hurts. Thank you for being such a wonderful, genuine, and caring person. Thank you for being a part of my life now, and hopefully, forever. And most importantly, thank you for being such a wonderful friend to me. I look forward to NYC, New Orleans and hopefully Phoenix….as well as the many, many other road trips, vacations, concerts and debauchery that we will experience together.

You are simply amazing, wonderful and beautiful. Don’t ever let anyone make you think or feel that you’re not."

  •   My last attempt at blogging ended in disaster. When I got the notion to try again, Katie was right there pushing me along and urging me to start writing. She even let me springboard back into the blogosphere by posting series of entries on her blog. At the time, we hardly knew each other, only talked sporadicly. Now, her daily emails, gchats, and texts bring so much sunshine into my life and she truly, honestly cares about my life and happenings. She is definitely the best friend I have never met (but hope to very soon).
